What is Benchtop Resurfacing?
Benchtop resurfacing means installing a new 7mm engineered stone surface directly over your existing benchtop, rather than ripping it out and replacing it. Your kitchen keeps its layout and cabinetry — only the surface changes. For most Hills District homes, installation takes a day or two, costs a fraction of full benchtop replacement, and there's no demolition, no dust and no skip bin on the driveway.
Granite Transformations pioneered this system in Australia nearly 30 years ago, and we manufacture our stone locally — it's the original and most proven resurfacing product on the market.
Is Resurfacing Right For Your Kitchen?
Resurfacing is ideal when your benchtops are dated, scratched, stained or simply the wrong colour — but the cabinets underneath are still solid. We install over laminate, timber, tile and most existing stone surfaces.
If your benchtop is water-damaged, structurally unsound, or you're changing the kitchen layout entirely, resurfacing may not be the right fit — and we'll tell you that honestly at the free consultation. In those cases we can quote a full benchtop replacement instead, or pair new surfaces with replacement cabinet doors for a complete kitchen makeover without a full renovation.
